about us
Since August 12th 1881, Carpenters Local #35 has been training and putting thousands of Marin County dwelling men and women to work as expert craftsmen, leading the way to workers’ rights around the country.
"Over 39,000 carpenters make up the membership of the Northern California Carpenters Union. All carpenters are welcome into membership regardless of race, creed, sex, age or national origin. Your participation is critical in the success of our union.
Belonging to the union means working and voting under the union contract. The Union Contract is a signed agreement made by the Contractor and the Union. It is negotiated by the Union and the contractor. These negotiations are called Collective Bargaining. Some of the benefits of Collective Bargaining are; earning a livable wage, vacation pay, pension, health insurance, grievance procedures, negotiated conditions, state of the art training and safety.
As Union Carpenters we fight for higher wages and working conditions. By banding together we act collectively for the mutual benefit of Carpenters."
